Membership
in the Seal of Liberty Society is FREE. This includes a
listing in the
Director of Members, the freedom to use the html code
that will reproduce the Seal of Liberty symbol and/or download the
graphic in .png or gif format. Our members have the
right to use the symbol on any and all correspondence, business
cards or any place ;where a "signature" seal would be
appropriate or give you an opportunity to discuss principles and
values..
In order to
become a member of the Seal of Liberty Society, you must read and
then
Pledge to accept the values and principles that the Seal of
Liberty Pledge suggests. Once you agree, you may fill out the
brief application stating your email address, name (as you want it
to appear in the
membership directory, city in which you live and
the country of which you are a citizen. The Society's web team
will fill in the year in which you've joined the Society.
In the
event that you decide to purchase the ability to also list your
Resume of Principles
Profile on the site, the fact that you have a
Profile will be at the
extreme right in the listing from your name. The word
Profile
will be hot linked to your Resume of Principles profile here on the Seal of Liberty
Society website.
There are
NO annual dues.
The Society
will be producing a Newsletter centered on principles. At the
time the individual agrees to be a member they can opt in for the
newsletter. If they opt in and ultimately decide, at any time,
that they want out, each issue of the newsletter will provide and
unsubscribe link so that the member's name will be withdrawn from
any further newsletter only mailing.
It is not a
condition of membership that the member subscribe to our newsletter.
However, the newsletter is only offered to our members and the
subscription is monitored against the
database of members.
Termination
of membership:
If three (3) or more members
report that another member is not acting in a way that is
consistent with someone who has pledged and agreed to the principles
and values we stand for, their membership will be revoked.
If they have a Resume of Principles
Profile on the site, the amount they paid for the
Profile will be refunded and the
Profile along with their membership
listing will be removed.
Reinstatement
of membership: Any member
removed may be reinstated when no less than six (6) Society members
nominate that person for membership. They must send their
requests stating the candidate's name and a sentence or two as to
why they think that person should be reinstated. The email or letter
must be sent directly to our Executive Director. That address
can be
found here.
If the
Membership Board agrees, the former member, now candidate will be sent an
email stating the terms of their reinstatement. In general,
the terms are: a)
Taking the Pledge
and submitting membership
information as though they were a brand new member and b) If they
previously had a Resume of Principles
Profile listed with the Society, it must be
paid for and it will be re-listed (those that are removed are stored
for 18 months after removal).
Membership
is about agreeing to a set of values and principles and the
opportunity to share those sincerely held principles with others.
